Ronald K. Rutherford, Principal
Ronald RutherfordRon founded Rutherford Asset Planning in 1986 after a career at I.B.M managing strategic and financial planning for software products for the Americas and Far East countries. He earned an M.B.A. at New York University and a B.S. and M.S. in Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA).

His book, The Complete Guide to Managing a Portfolio of Mutual Funds, published by McGraw-Hill, is endorsed by Dr. Harry M. Markowitz, 1990 Nobel Laureate in Economics: “This Guide may become a classic on the relationship between theory and practice.”Buy the book at Amazon.com.

He is a member of a number of professional and industry societies including the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards (CFBOS), Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA)He made major contributions to various financial planning organizations and charities, such as being Co-Chairperson of the NAPFA 2005 National Conference and the 1999 Northeast Regional Conference, Chairperson of the Committee on Planned Giving of the Cancer Alliance of Naples, Florida and as officer and director of the New York Metro Chapter of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP).

He has been listed by Worth magazine as one of the top financial advisors in the nation and was listed by the Worth/Robb Report as one of the Top 100 Financial Advisors in the United States. Widely quoted in the financial press, he has appeared frequently on national television to discuss financial topics and is a sought-after speaker at conferences for financial planners.

Suzette B. Rutherford, Principal
Suzette B. RutherfordAn attorney admitted to the bar to practice law in five states (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Florida) and a Certified Financial Planner with expertise in tax and estate planning, Suzzette co-founded Rutherford Asset Planning. Her work experience included management consulting for I.B.M. and large financial institutions, such as the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the American International Group. Her extensive educational background includes a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University, an M.S. in Statistics(academic units) from the University of the Philippines and a B.S. in Physics, Magna Cum Laude, from the College of the Holy Spirit in the Philippines.

She is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), Collier County Women’s Bar Association and the bar associations of Florida and the State of New York She is a member of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFPBOS), the Estate Planning Councils of Naples, Florida.She has been particularly active in the National Association of Personal Advisors (NAPFA) having served as the Co-Chairperson of their 2005 National Conference, Treasurer of the Northeast-Mid Atlantic Region, Chairperson of the National Membership Committee, Co-Chairperson of the 1999 Northeast-Mid Atlantic Regional Conference and as a member of the NAPFA Compensation Task Force.

Keith Amburgey, Principal
Keith AmburgeyKeith, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP), joined Rutherford Asset Planning as Chief Investment Officer and part owner in early 2009 after a 16 year career at Morgan Stanley working in the Institutional Securities Division. He rose through the ranks to become a Managing Director in the Fixed Income area.

At Morgan Stanley, he worked with Fortune 500 companies and other large institutions on a variety of customized and sophisticated financial products. Keith was later asked to manage Morgan Stanley's own counterparty credit risk, where he built a team of professionals that was responsible for a $40 billion portfolio of trade receivables.

His team was a market leader in this field, designing and implementing cutting edge risk mitigation and hedging techniques on this highly complex portfolio. Keith also managed a team of people who provided risk management and hedging solutions to leading insurance companies. In this capacity he was a member of the board of directors for Morgan Stanley Reinsurance LTD.

He received an M.B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) from Rutgers Graduate School of Management and has undergraduate degrees (Summa Cum Laude) in both Physics and Psychology from Rutgers College. He has completed the Series 7, Series 4 (Options Principal) and Series 24 (Supervisor) regulatory exams.

Keith works on all aspects of Rutherford Asset Planning’s business, with a particular focus on investment strategy and asset allocation. Keith is frequently quoted in the financial press on a wide range of topics.

Camille Marquez
Camille MarquezCamille first started working for Rutherford Asset Planning in 1999. She is the main interface for the clients to their custodians, Charles Schwab or TD Ameritrade, and private placement back offices. Her responsibilities include account openings and transfers of assets, monitoring client cash needs, daily reconciliation of custodian transactions with the portfolio data bases at Rutherford Asset Planning and generating the quarterly investment performance reports and the year-end tax reports for clients. She supervises bill paying and accounts reconciliation for clients utilizing this service.

Camille holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Mathematics) from the University of the Philippines. She is certified as a Registered Paraplanner by the College of Financial Planning and completed courses on personal income tax preparation at the National Training School for Federal Income Tax.
